Learn about all of the pieces that go into creating a complete wedding invitation suite and stationery for your big day.
The Invitation
Your invitation card lists all the important details for your big day! This card will include the couple’s names, date, time, and location of the wedding. I am happy to walk you through wording for this card because there are so many different ways to go about it.
Response Card
This is the card your guests will mail back to you to let you know if they are able to make it to your wedding. If you are offering meal choices, instead of a buffet, then your guests can select what they’d like on this card as well.
An envelope with your return address is included with this card so that your guests can return it to you.
For your guests, consider including postage on your response envelopes.
Details Card
This card can be used for any additional information you'd like to share with your guests. It can be used to give reception information, directions, registry, or hotel accommodations. The details card can range in size from a 3.5x5” card to a 4.25x5.5” card.
Belly Band
The belly band is used to bundle together your suite. The band can be customized to any color and will be personalized to match your details. This band can be a text weight paper, ribbon, or vellum.

The envelope liner is a fun embellishment that can add a pop of color or pattern to your invitation suite. This liner can be digitally printed or letterpress printed.

Envelope Details Below
When you give someone a present the wrapping paper is pretty right? In the same way, envelopes are the “wrapping paper” that delivers your wedding invitation to your guest! Wedding invitations can be sent in a single envelope, or in double envelopes, also known as inner and outer envelopes. Read on to learn more.
Single Envelope
Outer invitation envelopes
A single outer envelope is my standard envelope option. The guest address goes on the front of this envelope with the return address on the back. You can choose to have an envelope liner for this envelope or leave it out.

All of our standard invitation packages include either digital guest addressing or calligraphy to help save you some time from having to write addresses yourself. Digital guest addressing is done in black ink in fonts that match your invitation suite. For calligraphy we offer many options ranging from casual to formal styles.

Complete your envelope with the return address. The return address traditionally is placed on the flap but sometimes I like to get outside of the box and do something like the example shown here.
Double Envelopes

Double envelopes (called inner and outer envelopes) are more formal and traditional.
The outer envelope is used for mailing. The guest's name and address is listed on this envelope.
The inner envelope is used to hold your invitation suite and list your guest's names. It is inserted into the outer envelope.

Each of your invited guests will be individually listed on the inner envelope.
If you’d like us to take care of printing the names on this envelope then that is definitely an option!
Also, if you have an inner envelope and want to do an envelope liner, the liner goes on the inner envelope instead of the outer.
Outer envelope
The outer envelope lists the names and address of your guests.
